After taking pills to abort the 27-week old baby in her womb, a desperate mother started bleeding and cramping. A few days later she checked into a local clinic and gave birth to a baby boy. Assuming he was dead, the mother disappeared from the clinic the very same day.

Poe Thet Say ("Long Life" in Burmese) was born alive and weighed less than two pounds. The nurses gave him the name "Long Life" because, against all odds, this baby survived. "Long Life" was born blind in both eyes, but the rest of his body is strong and healthy. The doctors say there is a possibility to restore sight to one of his eyes in the future.

Because he had been left in a hospital bed for the first five months of his life, he had a difficult time responding to touch or even being held when he came to our Home. Now, "Long Life" is doing well and has captured the hearts of everyone.

This little baby should have died when his mom took the pills...but he lived. He should have died when he was born so prematurely and did not have adequate medical care....but he lived. Truly his life is a miracle. Baby "Long Life" will now have a 'long life' full of love and hope for his future. We know that God has an incredible plan for his life, and that he will grow up to do great things one day!
